REQUIRED MATERIALS

-One 8′ 2×4

-One 4′ 2×4

-One 6″ length of 3/4″ PVC pipe

-Two 3″ lengths of 1/2″ PVC pipe

-PVC glue

-24 1.5″ wood screws

-A drill

-A saw (a hand saw or power saw will both work)

CUT THE WOODEN PIECES TO SIZE

Using the saw, cut the following pieces from the lumber:

-Four 24″ long 2x4s from the 8′ 2×4

-Two 18″ long 2x4s from the 4′ 2×4

ASSEMBLING THE BASE SHAPE

-Using the saw, cut the following pieces from the lumber:

-Four 24″ long 2x4s from the 8′ 2×4

-Two 18″ long 2x4s from the 4′ 2×4

-Take two of the 24″ long 2x4s and attach them together using wood screws and glue. Repeat this step with the remaining two 24″ long 2x4s.

-Next, take the two 18″ long 2x4s and attach them to the base you just created, perpendicular to the other boards. These will be the legs of your stand.

-Once all four boards are attached, your stand should look something like this:

GLUING THE BOAT STAND PIECES

-Now it’s time to glue the PVC pipes to the 2x4s. First, apply a generous amount of glue to one end of each 3″ long 1/2″ PVC pipe.

-Next, insert the glued end of each pipe into a pre-drilled hole in two adjacent legs of the stand. The pipes should be inserted about halfway into the holes.

-Once the glue has dried, your stand should look something like this.

CUTTING DOWN THE FORM OF THE BOAT STAND

-Now it’s time to cut down the form of the boat stand. First, measure and mark the center of each leg (the point where the two boards intersect).

-Next, using the saw, cut off the corners of the stand at the marks you just made. This will help the stand fit snugly against the side of your boat.

-Once all four legs have been trimmed, your stand should look something like this:

ADDING THE FINAL TOUCHES

The last step is to add the final touches to your boat stand. First, attach the 6″ long 3/4″ PVC pipe to the top of the stand using glue and screws. This will be used to support the weight of your boat.

-Next, apply a generous amount of glue to the remaining two 3″ long 1/2″ PVC pipes. Insert one pipe into each of the holes you drilled in Step 3. These pipes will be used to secure your boat to the stand.

-Once the glue has dried, your stand is complete! You can now use it to support your RC boat while you’re working on it or transporting it from one location to another.

Conclusion

To make a RC boat stand, you will need two pieces of wood that are about the same size and shape. Drill a hole in each piece of wood that is big enough for the screw to fit through. Screw the two pieces of wood together so that they form an “L” shape. The rc boat stand can now be placed in any water container to hold the boat upright.
